Great to meet you!

I am very passionate about supporting you in your efforts to build on your strengths, rediscover your joy in life, and carve out an existence that brings you a sense of peace and meaning. Ever since I was little, I have wanted to help people make their own lives better. After growing up in Baltimore City, I moved to Massachusetts to earn a BA in Psychology from Umass Amherst. I then returned to Baltimore to pursue my MSW. Since then, I have worked as both a social worker and a clinical therapist in various settings, including schools, hospitals, government agencies, outpatient clinics, and directly in the homes of the clients I have served. I have treated numerous and co-occurring clinical issues in virtually every age group and with clients of various different backgrounds, but I consider the following to be my specialties: trauma/ PTSD, LGBTQ+, domestic and interpersonal violence, family and relationship conflict, substance abuse, ADHD, depression, and anxiety.

My approach to therapy

So many of my clients have told me that the first thing they notice about me is that I "genuinely seem to care" about them and what is going on in their lives. That is because I do! I am one of those people that was just born with a very strong sense of empathy, a feeling of connection to others, and a dedication to doing what I can to alleviate the suffering of my fellow humans. I am 100% focused on you during our sessions and I see it as an honor and privilege to fulfill this role in the lives of others. My entire approach to therapy reflects what drove me to choose a career in this field: this work is incredibly important and your trust in me means that I am going to give my absolute all to arming you with the sense of balance, wellness, and insight that you need to navigate this intense existence.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will talk with you about what treatment will be like, your rights and any limits to them (such as safety concerns), and any questions you have about therapy, about me, or about how I can help you.

Then, we will talk about what made you want to seek treatment and which aspects of your life have been causing you distress. We will explore what life has been like for you, what changes you would like to see in your life, and which goals we can identify that will help you get what you want out of life.
