Great to meet you!

I'm Melissa, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a practicing School Counselor based in Michigan. I help teachers struggling with stress, anxiety and feelings of burnout work towards achieving work-life balance.

We will start by identifying sources of tension in your professional and personal life that are causing you to feel overwhelmed and burnt out. Then, we will work on establishing boundaries and implementing coping skills that will be most effective for you. Through our work together, you'll have the skills to advocate for the changes you need and the strength to overcome the obstacles that you face in the future.

My approach to therapy

Clients come to me looking for a therapist who understands what it’s like working in education today, because therapy should be a place where you feel understood and validated. Sessions with me are your self-care time where you can prioritize your wellbeing. We will always go at your pace, never pushing to a place you don’t feel ready to be.

In our sessions, you can feel safe, supported, and heard. Together we will work through your feelings of burnout and get to a place where you can thrive, not just survive

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus primarily on getting to know each other, answering any questions you might have, and going over the information that you shared in your intake paperwork. I encourage you to be very intentional when setting up your environment for our virtual sessions. Find a comfy seat, grab a cozy blanket, light your favorite candle, and bring along a calming warm beverage.
