Melissa Dugas

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina and Louisiana. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, abuse, grief, and family challenges. My goal in counseling is to meet you where you are and support you in moving toward where you want to be. I practice from a foundation of compassion, acceptance, and genuine care. I recognize the courage it takes to enter counseling and understand that meaningful change is rarely easy or painless. My hope is that you feel safe, secure, and open as we begin this work together.

I tailor my approach to each client's needs, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to help achieve their goals. Change can be daunting, but I'm here to support you as we work together to find hope and create a positive transformation in your life.

In the first session, we’ll explore what the client hopes to achieve from counseling, address any misconceptions regarding counseling, and allow time for questions. This session focuses on building rapport and collaborating with the client, as each individual is unique, and it’s important to understand what matters most to them.
