Great to meet you!

Dr. Melissa Green-Carter is a licensed clinical psychologist who helps adults navigate life’s major transitions with clarity and resilience. With over 18 years of experience across military, forensic, and clinical settings, she understands how stress, anxiety, and life changes can impact both emotional and physical well-being. She has a special interest in supporting individuals experiencing caregiving stress, burnout, and identity shifts. Her approach blends evidence-based strategies with practical tools to help clients feel more grounded, present, and in control of their lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, positive psychology and mindfulness to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns. I also focus on helping clients regulate their nervous system and develop real-life tools they can use outside of sessions. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, or a major life transition, we will work together to build clarity, resilience, and a stronger sense of balance.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will focus on getting to know you—what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you would like to change or improve. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, current stressors, and goals, while also creating a space where you feel comfortable and heard. Together, we’ll begin identifying priorities and outline a plan that feels manageable and aligned with your needs. Many clients leave the first session with a greater sense of clarity and at least one practical tool they can begin using right away.
