Great to meet you!

Bringing warmth and empathy, I will meet you where you are, help you understand the root causes of your struggles, and work with you to achieve your wellness goals. I honor all my clients’ identities, supporting them toward loving and authentically expressing all parts of themselves.

While my journey as a mental health counselor began in 2023, I have offered individual and group care to men, women, and children of all ages and from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds, races, and ethnicities for 20 years. In my previous roles as a case worker and ministry professional, I realized that many people recognized the healthy choices they wanted to make but felt powerless to do so. I entered the counseling field so that I could offer practical and evidence-based support to clients as they pursue healing and work to break the entrenched patters that keep them feeling stuck.

I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trinity Washington University and my Bachelor’s degree from Duke University. I am trained in EMDR and will be fully certified in 2026. I have also received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems practices, and I hold an Attachment Trauma specialist certificate.

My approach to therapy

I take a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to counseling, emphasizing attachment and emotional expression. I believe that, while our past experiences impact our present realities, they do not have to define us. Using talk therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness practices, I help my clients explore those parts of their past that are impacting them in unhelpful ways, process their experiences, and pursue physical, emotional, and relational healing.

As a trauma specialist, I love helping clients who feel hijacked by their nervous systems find freedom from these triggers and show up the way they want to in their relationships.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will take the time to answer your questions and clarify what working with me will entail. I will then seek to understand your life and relationship history, your strengths and weaknesses, resources, and goals.
