Great to meet you!

While I operate a solo practice, I consult with the client's treatment team members on a regular basis. With 2 Master's Degrees, one in Environmental Biology and the other in Human Development & Counseling, it is important that I work with evidence- based approaches to support the counseling process. While it is not appropriate to impose personal thoughts during the therapeutic process, I am direct and therefore not for everyone. When people are stuck, sometimes the obvious escapes them. I will try to help you to gain perspective and try and improve your insight. Change is a process and it isn't always easy. It takes commitment, acceptance, and purpose to develop a more serene life. When I am not working, I can usually be found outdoors gardening, bird watching, and playing with the horses. Surrounded by cats, dogs, and horses, it is the animals that bring a sense of peace to me. I am also a mother to two children, both in their 20's, a wife, sister, daughter, aunt, avid reader and puzzler, and an imperfect human.

My approach to therapy

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Therapist, I believe that insight and acceptance are key to serenity. Most people have the capacity for change. Change is a process and it requires motivation, courage, and resilience. Are you ready to unlock your potential? While I conceptualize cases from a psychodynamic lens, I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches based on the client's immediate needs. Developing a strong therapeutic alliance, built on mutual trust and respect, is the platform for success. While I am direct and will challenge you, you will always be treated with unconditional positive regard.

What you can expect from me

I provide a space for vulnerability, collaboration, and growth. My immediate goal is for symptom reduction and your understanding of the why. Understanding your now requires a deep exploration of your past. The process towards emotional wellness is not linear nor easy, but it is possible.
