Great to meet you!

Menachem Hojda is the grandson of 4 Holocaust survivors and was given the name Menachem because its meaning “the one who comforts” describes the hope they felt with the birth of a new generation. Menachem values the miraculous healing made possible when people experience connection and belonging. He teaches at Touro University and U of M. He is a trainer for Oakland Community Health Network, and has lectured around the country about trauma informed care and the trauma of parental divorce.

My approach to therapy

My orientation is in humanistic and attachment approaches, but I believe that it is important to understand each person within their context and have a variety of evidence based interventional strategies available to meet the dynamic needs of each individual. As a therapist I see it as my professional responsibility to continue learning new tools and understanding new perspectives in the ever growing field of understanding human behavior.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to understand themselves better by engaging in challenging honest conversations. Our sessions will focus on your experiences with reflections that will offer new framing for challenges and understand the functional purpose of different reactions, behaviors, and feelings.
