Great to meet you!

I provide skilled, experiences and compassionate mental health care for people with a wide range of ages, needs, backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures. My work is tailored to your individual needs. I implement diverse psychotherapeutic techniques, adding to psychotherapy, or talk therapy, psychoanalysis, trauma informed, Polyvegal theory, somatic therapy, LGBTQIA+ informed, mindfulness, narrative, art, attachment and cognitive behavioral therapy as appropriate to your specific emotional, physical and cognitive needs. Together you can reach your therapeutic goals, feel better, have more peace of mind, self understanding, self-confidence, and improved relationships and professional life. I work with adults of all ages, adolescents and children.

My approach to therapy

I am a psychotherapist with over 17 years of experience as a mental health provider. I integrate a variety of therapeutic methods, including psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, somatic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, trauma therapy, addictions therapy, LGBT informed therapy, music, and art therapy. I support your mind, emotions, body, soul, and relationships though caring, thoughtful therapy. I am trained in Psychotherapy, Cognitive Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Somatic Therapy, Grief Therapy, and children's therapy. I have a Masters of Clinical Social Work and also Clinical Psychology. I have a Masters of Education, and was a teacher and staff developer in my first career. I am also an artist and an empathetic person who has had a range of personal and professional experiences. I am a mother. I can include pet therapy if that is appropriate. I listen deeply to you and meet you where you are at in that moment in time. Together we work towards a happier and present and future. I am here to meet your needs. I am responsive to feedback and very caring in my work as a therapist. I have a private office in Teaneck NJ. I also work via Zoom in NJ, Mass., and DE. I am a College Professor of Social Work currently part time.

What you can expect from me

During the first session and always I create a safe and welcoming space for you. I answer any questions you may have, and tell you about my practice as a Therapist. We begin treatment by meeting for an hour in person in my Teaneck NJ office or via Zoom. During the first couple of sessions I ask you about your family, friends, living environment, work, education, medical, cultural or spiritual influences. We also discuss your reasons for seeking mental health support at this time, and your goals. I will identify your diagnosis for insurance purposes from the first session. I build your treatment plan based on your individual needs after 3 sessions, which I revise as treatment continues. We work together. I offer you feedback, validation, and psycho-education, so you can understand yourself and others profoundly.
