Great to meet you!

Aloha my name is Michael Kukahiwa-Haruno and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with individuals of all ages and specialize in anxiety, stress/anger management, behavioral concerns, and LGBTQIA+. My inspiration for becoming a counselor is my wonderful siblings, who taught me the importance of support, which I hope to be for you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is based on the needs of the clients I work with; however, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Client-Centered Therapy, are the modalities I use most often. I believe that these modalities allow me to help support my clients on their therapeutic journeys toward their goals.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I like to treat this like a "talk story" session where we get to know each other. We will touch on goals and set general goals to refine as we get to know each other. I also always allow time for my clients to ask any questions they may have.
