I’m Dr. Michael W. Nettles, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the District of Columbia and Virginia and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland. I’m also a Master Addiction Counselor and a Department of Transportation-qualified Substance Abuse Professional. With more than 25 years of clinical and administrative experience, I bring a broad background in behavioral health, mental health counseling, substance use treatment, and community corrections.
I specialize in mental health counseling, substance use treatment, DUI/DWI education, anger management, relapse prevention, and related behavioral health services. I also support individuals involved with community corrections. My professional certifications include the Master Addiction Counselor credential through the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals, as well as certifications through NAADAC and the IC&RC.
Clients can expect experienced, respectful, and individualized support. My goal is to help each person better understand their challenges, build practical coping skills, and take meaningful steps toward improved well-being. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as the Founder, President, and Director of Training and Educational Development for Community Outreach Services, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing counseling, substance use treatment, mental health services, and educational programs in College Park, Maryland.
