Great to meet you!

When life feels overwhelming and you’re tired of trying to “hold it all together” on your own, therapy can offer a place to pause, feel understood, and find a clearer way forward. I am the owner and director of Monarch Therapy, and as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor I work with individuals, couples, and families to address a variety of emotional and mental health issues. I have worked with adults, children, adolescents, and families in a range of settings for over twenty years, and as a mental health therapist for more than 15 years. Areas of special interest and training include EMDR; post-traumatic stress disorder; trauma-based cognitive behavioral therapy; mood disorders and anxiety; and navigating life transitions.

My approach to therapy

As a solution-oriented, open-minded, and non-judgmental therapist, my approach focuses on your strengths to help you move forward. We will collaborate to identify clear, actionable goals, validating your current experiences while actively building practical strategies to create positive change in your life.

An integrative, trauma-informed approach centers on creating a safe, non-judgmental, and validating space to process the past while focusing on your present strengths and future goals. This non-pathologizing method empowers you to build resilience and meaningful coping strategies, without the pressure of forced, painful retelling of past traumatic events.

  • Your feelings, experiences, and perspectives are treated with deep respect. I provide a safe space where you are heard and understood exactly as you are, ensuring you feel completely supported as we navigate your challenges together.
  • Therapy is a space completely free of criticism or shame. Whether you are discussing past mistakes, fears, or unconventional thoughts, you will be met with unconditional positive regard, empathy, and acceptance.

What you can expect from me

Our initial sessions will focus on building a therapeutic relationship that provides a safe space for you and to ensure that we're a good fit for the work you want to accomplish.

I tailor our sessions to fit your unique worldview, identity, and needs. Because there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to mental health, I continuously adapt our strategies based on what resonates with you.
