Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Michelle — a therapist who believes healing happens through connection, understanding, and a touch of humor along the way. I grew up in Rochester, New York, so you’ll notice a bit of that East Coast directness in my style — I say what I mean, and I care deeply about helping you get to the heart of what’s really going on.

I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Western New Mexico University, where I discovered my passion for helping people heal and grow through life’s toughest challenges. I love working with individuals who have faced trauma, live with chronic health problems, or struggle with anger and other overwhelming emotions.

My own path to becoming a therapist began with my personal experience living with chronic health issues — so when I offer empathy, it’s not just professional, it’s personal. I’m an engaged, hands-on therapist who takes you and your situation seriously. Together, we’ll unpack what’s hard, find practical ways to cope, and reconnect you with your strength, balance, and a sense of calm.

My approach to therapy

My approach is structured yet deeply personal. I like to blend evidence-based workbooks with meaningful conversation so clients have both guidance and room to explore. My work draws from psychodynamic insight, helping clients understand the roots of their struggles while building new tools for change.

I often incorporate mindfulness and meditation, teaching practical ways to calm the body and steady the mind — especially in moments of overwhelm. Sessions with me are warm, grounding, and conversational, but also direct and empowering. I’ll challenge you when it helps and support you when it’s needed. Together, we’ll build clarity, confidence, and real skills that last beyond therapy.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is all about getting to know you — your story, your goals, and what’s been getting in the way. I’ll ask some questions to understand your history and what you’d like to work on.

I’ll also explain how therapy works, introduce some of the structured tools we might use, and help you start identifying practical ways to bring more calm and control into your daily life. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling seen, understood, and hopeful that things can get better — because they can.
