Michelle Walker, DNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC
Michelle Walker is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 35 years of healthcare experience, including 17 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner in family medicine, public health, addiction medicine, urgent care, and allergy and asthma. She also has five years of experience providing behavioral health services within public health, helping improve access to mental healthcare for underserved populations. Throughout her career, Michelle has cared for individuals across the lifespan from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and clinical backgrounds, treating complex medical and psychiatric conditions with a deep appreciation for the connection between physical and mental health.
Michelle believes effective mental healthcare begins with understanding the whole person—not simply treating a diagnosis. Her approach integrates comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, patient education, lifestyle interventions, and shared decision-making to create individualized treatment plans that support lasting mental wellness and improved quality of life. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care while empowering patients to become active partners in their recovery.
Committed to lifelong learning, Michelle has studied herbal medicine for more than 35 years and is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCHT), Intuitive Herbalist, educator, mentor, and author. While her clinical practice is firmly grounded in evidence-based medicine, these experiences have broadened her appreciation for the biological, psychological, lifestyle, social, environmental, and spiritual factors that influence health and healing. She believes every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, understood, and empowered to become an active partner in their care.
