Great to meet you!
Michelle Walker, DNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC
I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 35 years of healthcare experience, including 17 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner providing care in family medicine, public health, addiction medicine, urgent care, and allergy and asthma. Before becoming a PMHNP, I spent five years providing behavioral health care in public health, helping meet the needs of underserved communities where access to psychiatric providers was limited.
I believe the best care begins with listening. Every person has a unique story, and my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your care.
My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and patient-centered. I look beyond symptoms to understand the biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors that may be affecting your mental health and overall well-being. Together, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan that aligns with your goals and may include medication management, education, lifestyle strategies, and coordination of care when appropriate.
I have experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, ADHD, and other psychiatric concerns. I am committed to providing compassionate, respectful care while helping patients build resilience, improve daily functioning, and achieve meaningful, lasting wellness.
I believe healing is most successful when patients and providers work together as partners. My goal is for every patient to leave each visit feeling understood, supported, empowered, and hopeful about the path forward.
