Great to meet you!

As a Bilingual/ Bi-cultural mature cisgender female with nearly 26 years of clinical experience, I want you to know that your healing, and wellbeing, are my priority and one of reasons that chose this path as my second career. Grateful for my fierce Smith College mentors, I give back. Whether via volunteerism throughout Central America, Red Cross Disaster Mental Health work, feeding hungry, homeless folks down the road, teaching Chaplains about choosing love, instead of homophobia, I live my values, authentically.

We are here to thrive, not simply survive.

My approach to therapy

Clinically innovative, culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate, trauma-informed collaboration (WHAT A MOUTHFUL) means we use evidence-based treatment that honors your inherent worth, affirms the lens through which you see, understand the world, and our approach validates your lived experiences. Multi-modality (using more than one intervention strategy at the same time) is often beneficial, reflecting our colorful intersections of identity, and the layers of complexity therein. Attachment theory is typically an essential aspect of the work [ see list of most frequently used treatment modalities]

What you can expect from me

Clients gain knowledge, insight, and assessment and problem-solving skills, that equip them in identifying, and resolving thought patterns, and cycles of behavior with predictable unwanted outcomes, Clients recognize that we are truly partners in this solution-focused work, and that goal attainment cannot happen, unless they do their part. They typically leave more self-aware, confident, and more optimistic about the future. They also know that they can reach out if they get stuck and need a hand.
