Great to meet you!

Thank you for visiting my profile. Seeking support takes courage. I admire you for taking this first step toward wellness.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Portland, Maine with 20+ years of experience across educational and clinical settings. I first earned my BA in psychology from Columbia University, followed by my doctorate in psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology/Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Over the years, I have primarily worked with teenagers and adults facing the challenges of a fast-paced, demanding world.

During our sessions, you will have the opportunity to learn how to reframe unhelpful thought patterns. You will also be introduced to strategies that help to regulate strong emotions while committing to behaviors that are more aligned with your values.

Clinical care can be provided in-person (Portland, Maine only) or via secure video sessions (Maine and New York). In addition, I hold the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) credential from the PSYPACT Commission, allowing me to provide out of network care in participating states. To check if your state is eligible, please visit: https://psypact.gov/. All video sessions are HIPPA-compliant. If you have any questions about telehealth services, please contact me to help you decide which service is the best match for your needs.

My approach to therapy

My practice is informed primarily by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) principles.

What makes therapy most successful is not just the technique; it is the relationship shared between the clinician and client. I adapt techniques to fit you as an individual. You are a whole person, not a diagnosis.

Whether you wish to learn more about yourself, develop your problem-solving skills, or change your current direction in life, we can get you there, one step at a time.

Care can be provided in-person or via secure video. Telehealth allows me to reach clients across a wider geographic area. It also provides flexibility when in-person sessions need to modified due to unexpected circumstances, such as weather or childcare needs. Video sessions are always HIPPA-compliant to protect your privacy.

What you can expect from me

Throughout our work together, you can expect acceptance, compassion, respect, and warmth. I am an active listener who is fully present and attentive when we meet. Our sessions are intended to be a safe place where you can feel free to be honest - without judgment. Through structure and consistency, I seek to build a strong therapeutic alliance.

At your initial intake session, we will spend time understanding your history and identifying treatment goals to guide our work together. Once engaged in the therapeutic process, many clients report gradual improvement over the next 6 to 8 sessions.

Sessions are typically scheduled weekly. Session length is approximately 55 minutes. Both the length and frequency of sessions can always be modified based on your specific needs.

I am in-network for many insurance providers, and can also provide a superbill for those who are seeking reimbursement for out-of-network services. Please verify your coverage or call me for a brief consultation at no cost to you.

I am available weekdays in person or via secure video. For those who choose in person sessions, street and lot parking are available.
