Great to meet you!

With over 30 years of experience as a psychologist, I bring deep understanding, compassion, and a relational approach to my work. As a former Director of a university counseling center and an adjunct faculty member in psychology for over 15 years, I’m passionate about supporting growth, resilience, and self-discovery, especially during times of transition.

My approach is warm, affirming, and culturally sensitive. I value the unique experiences each person brings and work to create a safe, collaborative space for reflection and healing. Outside of my professional life, I’m a mother of two grown daughters, and I draw on both my personal and professional experiences to inform a caring and authentic therapeutic style.

My approach to therapy

In my work, I focus on helping people build awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and patterns in ways that promote self-compassion and flexibility. Together, we explore what truly matters to you and identify ways to live more fully and authentically, even in the presence of pain or uncertainty.

I recognize that our experiences are deeply shaped by culture, identity, and the social contexts we live in. I believe it is essential to honor these influences in the therapeutic process, creating space to explore how they impact your sense of self, relationships, and wellbeing.

I view therapy as a collaborative process, one that supports you in developing greater clarity, resilience, and alignment between your values and daily choices. I emphasize mindfulness, openness, and self-acceptance while encouraging meaningful action toward the life you want to create.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to start to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll invite you to share what feels most important, your concerns, goals, and hopes for our work together. I may ask questions to learn more about your background, current circumstances, and what’s been most challenging or meaningful for you lately.

This initial meeting also gives you the opportunity to get a sense of my style and to see whether it feels like a good fit. We’ll talk about what you’d like to focus on, what you’ve tried so far, and what support might be most helpful moving forward. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and respectful, where you can do meaningful work on whatever brought you to counseling.
