Great to meet you!

Hi! All of my services are available in English and Mandarin Chinese. I have experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, postpartum and pregnancy mood disorders, new parents transitions, relational and marital concerns, premarital counseling, grief and loss, self-development, and self-esteem issues.

I bring my personal multicultural experience and professional diversity training into our healing process. I specialize in working with multicultural individuals, first- and second-generation immigrants, intercultural families, and interracial couples. I received my Master's degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College Graduate School of Education and Counseling in Portland, Oregon. My graduate training in counseling focuses on social justice and equity issues in the practice of therapy. I have received thorough training to help clients explore the impact of their social contexts (social classes, races, ethnicities, genders, ages, religions, nations of origin, and sexual orientations) on their mental health.

I have completed Level 1 and and Level 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Treatment of Eating Disorders Certification Program at Lewis & Clark College.

My approach to therapy

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Texas and Oregon, and a LMFT supervisor in Texas. I offer a solution-focused and strength-based approach to counseling, along with cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy tools to support meaningful, lasting change. I have received extensive training and have over 10 years of experience in assessing and treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, including anxiety, depression, stress management concerns, trauma, relationship issues, family issues, postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, a Certified Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counselor, and a service provider for the Together in Texas Healthy Marriage Program. My goal is to help clients improve communication, strengthen coping skills, build emotional regulation, and create healthier relationships during pregnancy, postpartum, marriage, and other important life transitions.

What you can expect from me

I offer a warm and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe and accepted as they tell their stories, rewrite their stories, and grow from their stories. In the first session, we will begin getting to know one another, talk about what brings you to therapy, and identify the goals and concerns that feel most important right now. Whether you are coming in for anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, relationship issues, family issues, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, premarital counseling, or marriage counseling, my hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and more confident about the path forward. I want you to leave with a clearer sense of how our work together can help you feel more connected, more equipped, and more hopeful.
