Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Monica Pitek-Fugedi, MA, LPC, NCC, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. Before opening my private practice, Whole Mind Wellness, I spent 17 years as a high school counselor, where I developed a deep understanding of anxiety, stress, relationships, and life's transitions.

I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and Certified Clinical Trauma Treatment Professional. My approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and somatic techniques.

My hope is that therapy feels less like a clinical appointment and more like a conversation with a trusted friend. Kick off your shoes, get comfortable, and know this is a space where you can be yourself—without judgment, shame, or the pressure to have it all figured out. I believe healing happens through genuine human connection.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, perfectionism, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and burnout. I especially enjoy helping high-achieving professionals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the life they want to live.

Together, we'll identify patterns that are no longer serving you, build practical coping strategies, and help you create a life that aligns with your values. My goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you develop resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being so you can thrive long after therapy ends.

My approach to therapy

I believe the best therapy happens when you feel safe enough to be yourself. My style is warm, laid back, and disarming, creating an environment where you can exhale, let your guard down, and talk openly without fear of judgment. Clients often tell me they feel like they're talking with a trusted friend—someone who is genuine, compassionate, and easy to connect with—while also benefiting from the expertise of an experienced therapist.

I tailor therapy to your unique needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches to help you better understand yourself, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, perfectionism, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns. I especially enjoy working with high-achieving professionals who appear to have it all together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected on the inside.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, navigating a difficult season, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to help you leave each session feeling understood, empowered, and equipped with tools you can use in everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know you—not just the challenges that brought you to therapy, but who you are as a person. My goal is to create a relaxed, welcoming environment where you can take a deep breath, settle in, and share your story at your own pace. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to dive into difficult topics before you're ready.

Together, we'll discuss what's been going on, explore what you hope to gain from therapy, and identify goals that feel meaningful to you. I'll also answer any questions you have about the therapy process so you know what to expect moving forward.

By the end of our first session, my hope is that you'll feel heard, understood, and leave with a clearer sense of direction. Most importantly, I want you to know that you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone—we'll work together to help you build the insight, skills, and confidence to create lasting change.
