Great to meet you!

I genuinely enjoy my work as a psychologist, and feel honored and privileged to be able to help people on their journey toward health, happiness and well-being. I strive to being a good listener, compassionate, respectful and nonjudgmental. I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with 23 years experience in private practice during which I saw a great diversity of clientele, each owning a variety of mental health issues. I have specialties in substance use issues, mood and anxiety disorders, sport psychology, as well as grief and life transitions. I work with teens and adults of all ages, and I have a special place in my heart for folks who have served our country in the military and for senior citizens.

My approach to therapy

I was lucky to attend a graduate program where the staff worked from a variety of perspectives . . . cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and family systems to name but a few. I immersed myself in understanding these approaches, learning what I could about each one, and taking as much as I could from these experts. I incorporate all of what I learned in my treatment of clients, and am able to therefore use the most appropriate treatments as I see fit, meeting the client where they are at, and utilizing treatments that they best resonate with.

What you can expect from me

I ask my clients what they are looking for, and assess whether I can be helpful to them. Further, I give my clients the opportunity to decide whether they feel that they think they are comfortable with me or not. If not I will help them by making a referral to another psychologist or mental health professional. I will also briefly review my clients' general goals and lay out a possible template for treatment.
