Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Nancy Thornton and I welcome you to engage in the counseling process with me. My background includes two masters in the helping professions and substantial experience helping clients from diverse backgrounds with varied life challenges. Specific issues that I have worked with include problems in relationships, life transitions, depression, anxiety and the pain of traumatic events.

My approach to therapy

You might be coming to counseling with unexpected hardships or crises and my role would be to hear you, support you, and celebrate your progress as you navigate the challenges of life. I believe in the human capacity for growth and work to facilitate this process with hope and optimism.

What you can expect from me

I would work at providing a warm and welcoming session so that you would feel comfortable talking about what brings you to counseling. We would identify what would be helpful in making the process feel safe and effective for you. We will explore your specific challenges and draw upon your strengths that you might have used at other difficult points in your life. I will bring my own training, experiences and skills help you through this process.
