My approach to therapy is fundamentally shaped by Carl Rogers' Person-Centered philosophy, which is all about unconditional acceptance and deep respect for who you are right now.
I believe you are the expert of your own life and are already doing the very best you can with the tools you have. My role is to partner with you in a space free of judgment, what Rogers called Unconditional Positive Regard. As he put it, the kind of caring I offer is one where you are "accepted as [you] say [you] are." • I value you as a person and respect your right to choose your own path—no matter what those choices are.
• I trust your innate drive to move forward in a constructive, positive way.
Rogers taught that the journey to living an authentic, genuine life (what he called "congruence") begins when we can fully see and accept ourselves. When you feel truly seen and accepted, you're better able to embrace your imperfections and allow your inner strength and potential for growth to guide your decisions.
The relationship we build together is instrumental to your success. I strive to be an agent of change by helping you on this process of self-discovery and acceptance, leading to meaningful change and self-love.
