Great to meet you!

I work with adults who may understand why certain patterns happen, but find that in the moment, those patterns can still take over. You might notice anxiety, tension, shutdown, self-criticism, or relationship patterns that persist even when you have insight into where they come from.

I have over 12 years of experience and advanced training in Somatic Experiencing and EMDR. My work also draws from attachment-focused and parts-informed approaches. I’m especially interested in helping people work with both what they understand and what happens automatically: the emotional, relational, and body-based responses that can be difficult to change through insight alone.

My approach to therapy

I see therapy as an opportunity to create new experiences, not only new understanding. We can pay attention to thoughts and meaning while also noticing emotions, body sensations, protective responses, and what happens between us in the moment.

Sessions may include conversation, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, or parts and attachment-informed work, depending on what fits you. We may also spend time with experiences that already bring some sense of support, connection, strength, or possibility.

The goal isn't to eliminate every difficult response. It's to help your system discover that more than one response may be possible, so greater choice and flexibility become available in the moments that matter.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is intentionally low-pressure. I want to understand what brings you to therapy, what you hope might be different, and what feels important for me to know about you. You won't need to tell your whole story or go deeply into difficult experiences before you're ready.

We'll begin getting a sense of the patterns you want help with and what happens when they show up, not only what you think about them, but what you notice emotionally and in your body. We may also notice what already helps you feel more supported, connected, or like yourself.

Most importantly, the first session gives us a chance to experience working together. There is no particular way you need to show up, and we'll move at a pace that allows the work to develop naturally.
