Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Ngetla Mbonuh, DNP, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Maryland. I work with both adults and children across the lifespan, providing care for patients dealing with anxiety, depression, and addictions.

I’ve had the privilege of working at the Mt. Sinai inpatient psychiatric unit for over two years, and I spent more than five years at an inpatient residential treatment facility. During that time, I developed and implemented mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques, which have become a crucial part of my practice and play a key role in my patients' success and progress. I also provide holistic and integrative psychiatric care incorporated with faith-based principles to ensure my patients' spiritual and mental wellness.

My approach to therapy

I am an avid practitioner of mindfulness and self-care techniques, and I love traveling and exploring different cultures. I’m constantly inspired by the resilience and strength of my patients, and I work to empower them to achieve their maximum potential holistically. My goal is to help them overcome their challenges, thrive in their relationships, actualize peace, and truly enjoy their lives.

What you can expect from me

My main goals for my patients are to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve overall well-being, and promote personal growth and resilience. Ensuring that patients are on the right amount of medication for their needs is my top priority. I offer a friendly atmosphere where I listen to my patients nonjudgmentally and use talk therapy and other therapeutic techniques including faith-based approach to help move them to where they desire to be. The integration of faith can foster hope, resilience, and a sense of purpose, which can be crucial for those navigating challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, or addiction. I offer care that is sensitive to and respects individual spiritual needs and cultural backgrounds.
