Nichole Garcia

Hello! My name is Nichole Garcia and I am a licensed masters social worker, LMSW. I have been working in the field for about 12 years and started out working with children and teens at a residential shelter. I graduated at Wayne State University in 2012 with my Bachelors in Social Work and then in 2013 I obtained my Masters in Social Work. While attending college, I completed multiple internships working at homeless shelters, residential facilities, and the psychiatric ward.

During my sessions, I try to be open minded and focus on coping skills that are healthy for you. I have trainings in DBT, CBT, prolonged exposure, substance abuse, and eating disorders. My main goal is to make sure we are working on a treatment plan that is client centered focused. If you aren’t feeling involved in the process, then we aren’t working as a team. I want you to be feel comfortable and safe to share your story with me!

My clients will walk away from my sessions feeling like they are in a safe space to process their trauma and not feel judged. I am an open person and believe transparency is very important in a relationship. So as long as we can be honest with eachother, it will be a great therapeutic relationship. I am very passionate about my work. I love learning about my clients and ways we can work together to help you. I look forward to working with you and will make it an empathetic, genuine experience.
