Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Nichole Garcia and I am a licensed masters social worker, LMSW. I have been working in the field for about 13 years and started out working with children and teens at a residential shelter. I graduated at Wayne State University in 2012 with my Bachelors in Social Work and then in 2013 I obtained my Masters in Social Work. While attending college, I completed multiple internships working at homeless shelters, residential facilities, and the psychiatric ward.

My approach to therapy

During my sessions, I try to be open minded and focus on coping skills that are healthy for you. I have trainings in DBT, CBT, prolonged exposure, substance abuse, and eating disorders. My main goal is to make sure we are working on a treatment plan that is client centered focused. If you aren’t feeling involved in the process, then we aren’t working as a team. I want you to be feel comfortable and safe to share your story with me!

What you can expect from me

My clients will walk away from my sessions feeling like they are in a safe space to process their trauma and not feel judged. I am an open person and believe transparency is very important in a relationship. So as long as we can be honest with eachother, it will be a great therapeutic relationship. I am very passionate about my work. I love learning about my clients and ways we can work together to help you. I look forward to working with you and will make it an empathetic, genuine experience.
