Great to meet you!

My name is Nicole Adams, and I am a nationally certified Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed to practice in AK, AZ, AL, CO, ID, FL, MS, and MT. For more information on availability, please email me directly at [email protected].

For the past several years, I have worked exclusively in private practice, though my clinical experience began across a variety of settings, including inpatient treatment, intensive in-home services, and community-based care. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with people facing a wide range of challenges and to develop a deep appreciation for the fact that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.

My work focuses on self-actualization and personal growth, communication and boundaries, trauma and self-regulation, and exploring purpose and meaning. I believe that, from time to time, we all need a little guidance and support as we navigate the many challenges life brings our way. If you have the motivation to understand yourself and create change, I'm here to help you along the way.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be individualized to the person sitting in front of me. While I draw from specialized training in anxiety, trauma, family issues, existential therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), I don't believe therapy should be a predetermined formula. Together, we'll explore what is happening in your life, what you need, and what approaches are most likely to be helpful for you.

My role is not to tell you who you should be or make decisions for you. Instead, I see therapy as a collaborative process, one where we can slow down, make sense of your experiences, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop the insight and skills to move forward with greater intention.

Whether you're working through a specific challenge or simply feel ready for something different, our work can be a space to become more self-aware, strengthen your relationships, establish healthier boundaries, regulate difficult emotions, and explore what gives your life meaning and purpose.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what you're experiencing, what you'd like to be different, and what you're hoping to get from our work together. I'll also ask questions about your history and current circumstances so I can better understand the bigger picture.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. You also don't need to know exactly what you need from therapy. We can start where you are and figure it out together.

Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself. Therapy is a place where you can be honest, ask questions, and explore things at your own pace. My hope is that you leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of where we might go from here.
