Great to meet you!

I am a native New Yorker currently residing in Upper Marlboro, MD. I hold a BA in Sociology with a concentration in criminal and juvenile justice studies from Ithaca College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Howard University.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Washington, DC, with over twenty years of experience.

I have provided individual, group, and family therapy, as well as prevention, intervention, and crisis intervention services.

I have a particular interest in Children and Trauma, which led me to study under Dr. William Steele, the Founder of the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC). I have completed a certificate program in Trauma Treatment with Children and Adolescents at The University of Maryland, School of Social Work under Dr. Munson, a professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Director of the Washington Area Supervision Institute at Woodstock Forest.

I also have 12 years of experience working with adults diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression. Currently, I am a Doctoral student working on my Doctorate in Social Work.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered and collaborative, grounded in respect, empowerment, and resilience. I believe that clients are the experts of their own experiences, and I work alongside them to build on their strengths and achieve their goals. I also have a special interest in integrating holistic approaches into mental health care, which allows me to support healing in mind, body, and spirit when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

Ultimately, I strive to create a safe and supportive therapeutic space where individuals can embark on their journeys of self-discovery, growth, and lasting change. I aim to provide an environment that encourages clients to deepen their self-awareness, strengthen their sense of hope, and cultivate a renewed sense of purpose as they move toward healing and personal growth.
