Great to meet you!

You are in a safe space! I am a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with my terminal degree in nursing as a doctorate prepared nurse with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. I am a proud graduate of Gardner-Webb University. I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my telehealth private practice. I specialize in providing medication management and therapy options for several psychiatric conditions including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, mood disorders, and schizophrenia.

My approach to therapy

My approach to mental health care focuses on helping patients understand that brain health is just as important as physical health. The foundation of my practice is built on transparency and honesty, ensuring that every decision made is in the best interest of your overall well-being.

When it comes to prescribing, I follow a principle of necessity—carefully weighing the benefits of treatment against potential risks. I view medication as a valuable component of a comprehensive plan to support your mental and emotional health. I take the responsibility of prescribing controlled substances very seriously and do so only when clinically appropriate. A thorough health history and assessment will always be completed to ensure that any medication options are safe, effective, and best suited to your individual needs.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where you feel heard and supported. We’ll spend time discussing your current concerns, personal history, and goals for treatment so I can gain a full understanding of your needs. This session also allows us to explore what approaches and treatment options may work best for you.

I believe in collaboration and transparency, so you can expect an open discussion about possible treatment plans, including therapy, lifestyle strategies, and medication options. A thorough health history will be obtained to ensure that any recommendations are safe and tailored to your specific situation.

Most importantly, this first meeting is about building trust and establishing a partnership focused on improving your mental and emotional well-being.
