Great to meet you!

I have an extensive history working with clients and/or a desire to help clients who face: difficulty dealing with daily stress, anxiety, and/or depression, history of loss/grief of many facets, perinatal or postpartum mental health difficulties, codependency, and clients with family members dealing with substance abuse.

My approach to therapy

I try to be personable, relatable, yet continue to be client-focused in sessions. I keep a judgement-free zone in sessions. I love a good pop-culture reference and want to connect with my clients in a way that they feel open to discussing whatever it is they are feeling. I value being someone's "safe space." I also want clients to look forward to therapy, and dare I say enjoy it?! I try to stay true to myself, which is not a stiff, super formal therapist. I find that more clients relate to "real" and being genuine improves the therapeutic experience. I also give clients the option to incorporate faith-based aspects into their therapy, as appropriate, if they wish. I am a counselor who is a Christian, but am not a certified "Christian counselor."

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will review your responses to my intake questionnaire with you, ask clarifying questions, and gain needed information to determine how we can best work together to support you in becoming your best self in this season. I'd make sure we both know what you want to be working towards (clarify goal setting), and then begin discussion getting to know you better before scheduling our next session when you feel is best! I would be honored to work with you!
