Great to meet you!

I work with adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, or the lingering effects of trauma, and I see many of our struggles as old survival patterns that once kept us safe but don't fit our lives anymore. I use experiencial approaches like EMDR, a therapy that helps the brain process painful memories, and body-based work, so we can go beyond talking when that's what helps. I'm warm, curious, and collaborative, and we'll move at your pace and figure out together what works for you. My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling a little more at ease in your mind and body.

My approach to therapy

Experiential work means we don't just talk about what's hurting, we help your mind and body actually go through it in a new way, in the room. Your body holds a lot of what you've been through, so we pay attention to what you feel in your body, as well as what you think. We might notice the different parts of you that pull in different directions, or use EMDR to help painful memories settle so they stop hitting as hard. The goal is self understanding and real change that doesn’t require white knuckling your way thru life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll get to know each other. I'll ask what brought you in and what you're hoping will change, and you're welcome to ask me anything too. Together we'll figure out what needs the most care right now and whether we're a good fit. You'll leave with a clear sense of what working together looks like and a first step, with no pressure to share more than you're ready to.
