Great to meet you!

I am an open-minded clinician experienced in working with survivors of intimate partner violence, both past and present relationships. I specialize in working with adult survivors of sexual assault/abuse, specifically those recovering from incest victimization. I offer individualized therapy to individuals experiencing psychosis related symptoms who are already established with and receiving medication management through a psychiatric provider. Additional issues I am comfortable with exploring include depression, anxiety, post-partum depression, personality disorders, couples, and family related struggles.

Just as important as any theory or type of practice, is connection. It typically takes about three to four sessions to know if the therapist is a good fit for the client. Connection between the therapist and client fosters a safe environment, allowing for the client to feel safe enough to be vulnerable, open, and honest.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy begins with meeting a client where they are and building a therapeutic relationship from that point. I practice with an open-mind and non-judgmental approach, and focus on what the client feels is the most important to them. I utilize Cognitive Behavorial Therapy (CBT) during sessions and incorporate elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to build coping skills centered around emotion regulation and grounding. Additional therapeutic tools I have incorporated into client work reflect approaches such as mindfulness, humanistic based therapy, solution oriented, values based recovery, and couples/family systems therapy. I am comfortable with going at a client's pace and with supportive challenging when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

My clinical intention is for every client to feel heard during their therapy session and empowered enough to express their thoughts and feelings in a space that becomes their own. Beyond this, my goal is to help each person navigate through the chaos and confusion of life and "find their North", unique to each individual's journey.
