Great to meet you!

My journey into the mental health field began with a deep-seated desire to support individuals during their most challenging times. Witnessing the struggles of those close to me, as well as navigating my own life experiences, illuminated the profound impact that compassionate guidance can have on one's healing process. Initially, I pursued studies in psychology, captivated by the intricacies of human behavior and thought. However, I soon realized that understanding the mind was just the beginning; I yearned for a career that allowed me to be actively involved in the transformative journey of others. This realization led me to further my education in social work, equipping me with the tools to not only intervene during crises but to walk alongside clients through their paths of growth and healing. What continues to inspire me in this profession is witnessing the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Every day, I am reminded of the courage it takes to confront one's challenges and the incredible capacity for change that resides within each individual. It is an honor to be part of such personal journeys, and this privilege fuels my commitment to providing empathetic, personalized care to those I serve.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that every person has strengths, even in their most challenging moments. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can be fully yourself—where your experiences are heard, your emotions are honored, and your goals truly matter. Drawing from strengths-based, trauma-focused, and solution-focused approaches, I work with you to identify what’s working, what’s holding you back, and what growth and healing can look like for you. I understand that no two people are the same, so I adapt our work to meet your unique needs, circumstances, and preferences. Together, we’ll build on your inner strengths, develop practical tools, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want to create.

What you can expect from me

Embarking on therapy is a significant step, and I aim to make our initial session as welcoming and informative as possible. We'll begin by discussing essential policies and procedures, including confidentiality and its boundaries, to ensure you feel secure and understand the framework of our work together. This conversation is designed to be straightforward and reassuring, setting the stage for a transparent therapeutic relationship. As we move forward, I'll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, exploring your current challenges, personal history, and aspirations. This is a collaborative process, and I encourage you to share at your own pace, ensuring you feel heard and respected. Together, we'll identify your goals for therapy, recognizing that these may evolve over time as we navigate your journey. Throughout our session, my focus is on building a genuine connection and establishing a therapeutic alliance grounded in trust and mutual respect. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable expressing yourself openly, knowing that our conversations are held in confidence and with professional integrity. By the end of our first meeting, my hope is that you leave with a sense of clarity about the therapeutic process and confidence in our partnership moving forward.
