Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Nkhondo Nkunika, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I graduate from Eastern Kentucky University with an MSN and also hold a master’s degree in public health from the University of New England. My experience spans both inpatient psychiatry and outpatient care, where I have worked with individuals facing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, schizophrenia, and dementia-related concerns. I provide compassionate, evidence-based care through medication management, supportive therapy, and patient education. My goal is to create personalized treatment plans that improve quality of life and empower each person on their path to recovery.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe every client’s story is unique, so I take time to listen and understand their needs before creating a treatment plan together. I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy and education, helping clients feel informed and empowered in their care.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and respected. My sessions focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and working together to identify each client’s unique needs and goals. Typical outcomes include improved symptom management, greater insight into emotional and behavioral patterns, and increased confidence in coping skills. I also emphasize medication education and collaborative decision-making, so clients feel empowered and informed about their treatment. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients achieve better balance, stability, and overall quality of life while supporting them every step of the way.
