Great to meet you!

You may have spent years being the person who pushes through, takes care of what needs to be done, and keeps moving even when something underneath does not feel right. Anxiety may leave your mind constantly running, panic can make you feel as though you have lost control in an instant, or grief and relationship challenges may leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and the people around you. I work with adults and seniors experiencing substance use or addiction, anxiety, panic disorders, grief or loss, and chronic conditions. These concerns can also overlap with depression, family issues, stress management, relationship difficulties, trauma, or PTSD, especially when emotional health, physical wellbeing, and relationships begin affecting one another. With more than 23 years of experience, I believe therapy should give you a place to feel understood without judgment while helping you develop practical ways to create meaningful change. Together, we can explore what has been weighing on you, strengthen healthier ways of coping, and help you feel more grounded, supported, and confident moving forward.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both what you are experiencing today and the relationships, losses, health concerns, and experiences that have shaped how you got here. We'll explore how substance use or addiction, anxiety, panic disorders, grief or loss, and chronic conditions may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and ability to feel grounded in everyday life. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of responding, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you navigate difficult emotions while staying connected to what matters most to you, and Motivational Interviewing to help you explore change without pressure while strengthening your own reasons for moving forward. I may also draw from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help you process painful experiences that continue to affect you, while Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy can help you become more aware of difficult thoughts and emotions without immediately feeling overwhelmed by them. Our sessions will be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs, balancing deeper understanding with practical strategies that support meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to know exactly what needs to change or have the right words for everything you are experiencing before we begin. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you here, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will create goals that feel meaningful and realistic while deciding where it makes the most sense to start. You can expect me to bring warmth, openness, and thoughtful guidance to our conversations while creating a space where you can speak honestly about anxiety, substance use, loss, relationships, health concerns, or painful experiences without judgment. Progress may look like feeling more capable when anxiety or panic arises, developing healthier ways of coping, finding ways to carry grief without feeling consumed by it, or feeling more supported while navigating chronic health concerns. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjusting our work based on what feels most helpful, helping you move forward with greater confidence, emotional balance, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself.
