Great to meet you!

My name is Nzinga Lawrence. I am a Howard Bison! I have experience with working with individuals enrolled with inpatient, outpatient, and private practice. I work with young adults and adults. My specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, relational problems, addiction, and problem gambling. I do not provide couples counseling.

My approach to therapy

I’m a licensed professional counselor specializing in helping individuals manage intense emotions and impulsive behaviors, which can show up as low self-esteem, addiction, or other challenges. I use a compassionate, client-centered approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the patterns behind your thoughts and behaviors. Together, we’ll explore the root causes and build healthier coping strategies so you can move forward with greater clarity and resilience.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. You can expect a warm, welcoming environment where you feel safe to share your thoughts and emotions. I’ll explain what therapy involves, including the risks and benefits of online counseling, so you feel informed and comfortable moving forward. Together, we’ll explore the areas you’d like to focus on, and collaboratively create a treatment plan that’s tailored to your unique needs, values, and goal.
