Great to meet you!

You deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported, especially when life's demands become overwhelming. Whether you're a new mother navigating postpartum depression or anxiety, a college student struggling with academic pressure, a healthcare professional experiencing burnout, a caregiver feeling emotionally exhausted, or an adult facing relationship challenges or major life transitions, you deserve compassionate care that meets you where you are.

I'm Olamide Popoola, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing personalized mental health care for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, OCD, chronic stress, and emotional difficulties.

I understand that mental health challenges can affect people from all walks of life, including working professionals balancing demanding careers, parents juggling family responsibilities, individuals recovering from difficult experiences, and those struggling with persistent worry, intrusive thoughts, or changes in mood.

My approach is warm, holistic, collaborative, and patient-centered. I see you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and actively participating in treatment decisions.

Together, we will develop a personalized care plan that reflects your unique needs, values, and goals. You don't have to navigate your mental health journey alone. Wherever you are in your journey, we can begin there. I look forward to meeting you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, holistic, collaborative, and patient-centered. I provide a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment through convenient, confidential virtual appointments where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to participate in your care.

Through secure video sessions, I integrate evidence-based medication management, supportive psychotherapy, Behavioral Activation, and Motivational Interviewing to support your mental health and emotional well-being. We will explore your concerns, review symptoms, discuss medication options, monitor treatment effectiveness, and address potential side effects. Supportive psychotherapy offers space to process emotions, navigate challenges, and strengthen coping skills. Behavioral Activation helps you identify small, achievable steps to improve mood, motivation, and daily functioning. Motivational Interviewing supports you in exploring personal goals, overcoming uncertainty, and building confidence in making meaningful changes.

Your voice, values, and preferences guide every treatment decision. Together, we will develop a personalized care plan that supports your goals and overall well-being. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered as you work toward lasting emotional wellness at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

Taking the first step toward mental health care can feel overwhelming, and that’s okay. Your first session will be a private, welcoming, and nonjudgmental video appointment, typically lasting 45–60 minutes. We will take time to get to know each other, discuss your concerns, explore your mental health history, and understand your personal goals. There is no pressure to share everything at once or have all the answers. You are in control of your care, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we will explore treatment options and develop a personalized plan that respects your needs, values, and preferences. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered as we take the next steps toward your emotional wellness.
