Great to meet you!

I'm Olivia Brenninkmeijer, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's from Western Michigan University, offering in-person therapy in the Grand Rapids area and telehealth throughout Michigan to adolescents and adults. I specialize in women's mental health, infertility and reproductive challenges, maternal and perinatal mental health, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship issues. My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized — drawing from Psychodynamic therapy, CBT, ACT, MBCT, Gottman Method, and Strength-Based approaches to help you build healthier patterns and reconnect with the strongest parts of yourself.

My approach to therapy

My work is individualized to meet you exactly where you are. Psychodynamic therapy helps explore the deeper patterns shaping your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. CBT identifies and shifts unhelpful thought cycles driving anxiety and depression. ACT builds psychological flexibility and helps you move toward what matters most to you. MBCT develops emotional awareness and regulation. Gottman Method supports couples in building stronger communication and deeper connection. A Strength-Based lens means I start from what's already right in you. I foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust, understanding, and genuine care — because lasting transformation starts with feeling truly safe.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other, talk about what brought you to therapy, and begin identifying what you hope to change or better understand. I'll create a warm, judgment-free space where you can be honest and feel heard, while we begin developing your goals together. You don't need to have everything figured out before you walk through the door — we'll start wherever you are and build from there.
