Great to meet you!

Seven years ago, I walked into my first school as a social worker and never looked back. Since then, I've sat with hundreds of kids who were labeled "difficult," "distracted," or "a lot to handle" — kids who just needed someone to slow down and actually listen. Now, as a fully licensed LCSW, I bring that same patient, unhurried energy to virtual therapy for children and adolescents across North Carolina. I specialize in ADHD, behavioral challenges, school-related stress, and the messy emotional work of growing up. I'm not here to hand you a checklist. I'm here to figure out what's actually going on for your child — and work alongside your family to build something that genuinely sticks.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and practical. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing — which means I'm not here to dig through the past endlessly. I want to understand what's getting in the way right now, build on what's already working, and help your child develop concrete tools they can actually use. Sessions feel more like a real conversation than a clinical appointment. I ask a lot of questions, I listen carefully, and I adjust based on what each child actually needs — not a one-size-fits-all protocol. Parents are part of the process too. You know your child better than anyone, and that insight matters.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting to know each other. I'll ask about your child's daily life, what brought you here, and what you're hoping to see change. There's no pressure to dive into anything heavy right away — the goal is to make sure your child feels comfortable and to figure out if we're a good fit. You'll leave with a clearer sense of how I work, what the process typically looks like, and what to expect moving forward. Showing up is the hardest part. After that, we figure it out together.
