Great to meet you!

I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a master’s degree in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University in 2007. I am licensed by the State of NC (License # 7094) as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (Certification # 225725).

I have over 14 years of clinical experience in treating children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using individual and family therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach is based on individual needs, but I rely heavily on approaches from solution-focused brief therapy by Steve de Shazer and Kim Berg, cognitive behavioral therapy by David Burns, and Murray Bowen's "Family Systems Therapy". I will be glad to explain them or suggest some reading materials. I also use DBT Concepts and The Human Givens Approach in conjunction with various relaxation and meditation techniques

What you can expect from me

You ca expect to walk away from our first interaction feeling like you are in control of your recovery. We will support you to make the changes that you feel you need to make.
