Great to meet you!
My name is Paul Forrester and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I have experience working with clients in both group and individual settings during my work in an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a social worker in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) and before that, I spent five years active duty in the United States Navy.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process of rediscovering one’s resilience and reclaiming a sense of agency. I focus on creating a grounded, supportive environment where clients can explore the complexities of their identity and navigate life’s transitions with greater clarity. Many people see me because their thoughts have started to feel like an "inner critic" that never rests. Using evidence-based therapies, I help my patients pull back the curtain on these automatic patterns. We work together to gather evidence, test assumptions, and identify the cognitive distortions that keep you trapped in old behaviors.
Anxiety & Panic Disorders: Helping clients regain control from intrusive thoughts and physical symptoms of panic.
Depression & Low Mood: Using behavioral activation to spark engagement and reframe negative core beliefs.
Stress Management: Navigating the pressures of high-stakes careers and life transitions through cognitive restructuring.
Self-Esteem & Identity: Dismantling the internal narratives that prevent individuals from feeling like they are worthy of help.
