Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in Portland, ME with a telehealth private practice. I was raised bi-cultural and bilingual and can do sessions in English and Spanish. I have over 10 years of social work experience working with immigrants, adolescents, and adults in crisis in my community.

My approach to therapy

My goal is that together we can create a trusting relationship in which I can support you as you navigate various challenges of life. Identifying goals to work on together, pace setting, and treatment is a collaborative process. I draw from several modalities (cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and narrative therapy) to meet your needs. Together, we work to build self-awareness of certain patterns of thinking, self-perceptions, and personal narratives that may be keeping you feeling stuck in a limiting or self-destructive state of mind. We work to strengthen healthy coping skills, flexible thinking, and perspective taking. I believe a strong client-therapist relationship built on trust and mutual respect is essential to get any real work done.

What you can expect from me

In our first appointment you can expect me to meet you with warmth, curiosity and humor (when appropriate). I view our first appointment as an opportunity for you to share as you feel comfortable and assess whether you feel I am a good fit for you. I ask a lot of questions because I am excited to get to know you, but I also know that trust takes time to build. You are ultimately in control of what you choose to share and the pace at which you share it.
