Great to meet you!

My name is Paula Webb, a licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed in Arkansas, and I have been practicing now for about 18 years. Over the years, I have worked with children (4-12), adolescents (13-19), adults (20 and up), and older adults (50-65). My goal and hope in working together is two-fold. On the short term, I'd like to help you to get some relief and to ease some of the symptoms you mentioned so you can live a full life again. On the longer term, I hope that we can get to the bottom of the feelings, concerns and dilemmas that you are currently struggling with. I understand that this process this may be new and difficult for you. You have taken the first (and most important) step of reaching out for help. Together we will keep taking one step at a time, at a pace that you feel comfortable with "Thank you" for sharing information about yourself. I'm so happy that you reached out for help. Let me start by telling you the theories I align myself with and my form of counseling is Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a short-term form of behavioral treatment. It helps people solve problems. CBT also reveals the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow. Through CBT, people learn that their perceptions directly influence how they respond to specific situations. In other words, a person's thought process informs their behaviors and actions. Solution Focused - we help people see past the "problem" into the solution. So, you probably won't hear me say "problem" very often. I see them as issues, circumstances, or events. If I can help with changing your verbiage, then I can help you with finding a solution.

My approach to therapy

My form of counseling or focus is to help my clients get past the "problem" into the solution.

I have been told by previous clients that I am a good listener, patient, open-minded, and don't judge, label, or criticize.

What you can expect from me

To be engaging, empathic, understanding, and open-minded. I feel that is my responsibility to be up-front and honest with all my clients, and they can ask me questions. Above all, I took l an oath when I first received "to do no harm" and be an advocate (help them find their voice) for all of my clients.
