Great to meet you!

I’m Phillip Reynolds, a licensed clinical social worker with more than 19 years of experience helping individuals, couples, teenagers, and families create meaningful change. I am especially passionate about couples therapy and helping partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and restore connection. I also support adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and major life transitions, with a particular interest in working with athletes and sports families. I provide virtual therapy to clients in Maryland, Virginia, and Florida.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, culturally informed, and direct. I create space for clients to feel heard while also helping them identify patterns, build on their strengths, take responsibility for what is within their control, and practice healthier ways of responding. I tailor therapy to each client rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Our work will balance insight with practical strategies that support meaningful change in everyday life.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to understand what brought you to therapy, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will change. I will ask questions about your experiences, relationships, strengths, and current concerns while creating a comfortable and nonjudgmental environment. Together, we will begin identifying patterns, clarifying goals, and determining the best direction for our work. You should leave with a clearer understanding of what therapy with me will look like and the next steps we can take together.
