Great to meet you!

I battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma in my twenties and went through years of chemotherapy, radiation, and 2 stem cell transplants. I faced years of darkness where I battled with myself emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I learned during this dark time to find the strength within me to keep going. My motto in life was to always “hope for the best, prepare for the worst” because life felt uncertain and unpredictable. I will never forget how alone I felt during those years. There was no one that truly understood me, or listened to me. I knew then, I never wanted anyone else to feel the way that I did. So, I went back to school and received my degree in Counseling in hopes that one day I can help someone to find the strength within them to keep going no matter how unpredictable and challenging life may be.

I have experience working with young adults and adults on areas such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life stressors, life transitions, relationships, and self-confidence/self-esteem issues.

My approach to therapy

My approach in therapy is that you do not have to face life’s challenges by yourself. I will be there next to you to walk with you on your journey. I do my best to provide unconditional support, warmth, empathy, and understanding by providing you a safe and non-judgmental environment. I believe in using different types of therapeutic approaches in therapy since I believe everyone is unique. I use different tools to help you learn the skills to cope with life’s stressors, and empower you to recognize your strengths. I believe in the importance of self-care as a part of your well-being, and will encourage you to practice it daily throughout your life. As your therapist, I hope to instill hope and positivity into your life to help you live your best life!

What you can expect from me

During our first session together, we will take the opportunity to get to know one another. We will discuss your background and what brings you to therapy. It is very understandable for you to feel nervous during our first session. Therapy is a process and we will work together over time. I will guide you along the way and want you to feel as if I will be walking with you on your journey to becoming the best version of yourself!
