Great to meet you!

Hey y'all! My name is Preethi Thomas and I'm a clinical social worker based out of Houston, TX who's licensed in the states of Texas and Maryland. I earned my bachelor's of social work at Texas Tech University and my master's in social work at the University of Houston. I am a relational psychodynamic therapist that uses person-centered and solution-focused therapy. I am EMDR-trained.

My approach to therapy

I am a trauma-informed, decolonial, abolitionist, anti-oppressive, and a liberation-oriented clinician. I specialize in working with queer/LGBTQ+ BIPOC and anyone who is of a marginalized/oppressed identity. I love working with neurodivergent individuals. I also have vast experience working with survivors/victims of abuse.

What you can expect from me

I recognize mental health is not separate from the identities we carry along with the social conditions/communities we exist in. It is essential for me to understand your lived experiences along with your material realities so I can engage in a culturally sensitive/responsive manner. I am going to challenge you while also helping bring clarity in a way that isn't based in shame and insecurity.
