Great to meet you!

I am a multi state licensed psychologist who sees clients across the lifespan. I received my PhD in counseling psychology from Loyola University Chicago and my training at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical Center, La Rabida Children's Hospital at U of C, and Urban Youth Trauma Center at UIC.

I specialize in the treatment of trauma related stressors that result from both interpersonal traumatic experiences such as bullying, child maltreatment, and systemic traumatic experiences such as racism related stress and community violence exposure; as well as general life stressors including, but not limited to developmental transitions, relationship concerns, introspection of childhood experiences impact on adult functioning and patterns, and issues unique to Black men and Black women.

My approach to therapy

I take a person/family centered, holistic approach to therapy. My role is to facilitate my clients' journey toward healing and development of adaptive coping skills. As the persons closest to the phenomenon, clients are the experts on their own lives. I marry my knowledge of evidence based treatment with the lived experiences of my patients to obtain the outcomes that support healing, growth, and adaptive functioning.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to be validated, heard, supported, and challenged toward the end of optimal functioning for the client. Sessions and interventions will always be intentional and tailored to the needs of the client and the progress of our treatment.
