Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Rachel Chernow, LCPC. I work with adults who are navigating life’s challenges — from anxiety, depression, and stress to relationship struggles, grief, and major life transitions. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore what’s weighing on you, gain clarity, and build tools for lasting change.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust and compassion. Together, we’ll identify your strengths, uncover patterns that may be holding you back, and find practical ways to create balance and meaning in your life.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for a shift, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence and self-understanding. Healing isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress, growth, and learning to care for yourself in new ways.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a Person-Centered focus. This means I help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while always honoring their unique experiences and pace.

Through CBT, we’ll work together to identify unhelpful patterns and develop practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and mood. At the same time, I take a person-centered stance—creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported.

I believe real growth happens when you feel safe to be yourself. My role is to guide, encourage, and collaborate with you as you build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward the life you want.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable and heard. We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you’d like to focus on. I’ll ask some gentle questions to get to know you—your background, strengths, and what’s been most challenging lately.

Together, we’ll begin to identify your goals and what you hope to gain from our work. You don’t have to have everything figured out; this first meeting is simply a chance for us to connect and see how I can best support you.

By the end of the session, my hope is that you’ll leave feeling understood, a bit lighter, and with a clearer sense of the path ahead.
