Great to meet you!

Hi everyone! My name is Rachel Hanna and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I received my degree from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work. I have worked in the field of therapy for over 10 years treating adults with a wide range of diagnoses. These days I specialize in working with adult women who are struggling with anxiety and depression and are seeking inner peace, life direction and happiness. I utilize modalities including internal family systems, mindfulness, somatic experiencing and a strength based approach to help women address and face past challenges on a mind body level while empowering actualization and thriving of one's greatest self.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I value and lead with authenticity and empathy. I feel that developing a strong rapport is one important key to the therapy experience. I also believe that true healing happens on a mind body level and emphasize nervous system regulation and healing trauma stored in one's body. I also believe that empowered action can be a huge asset in the healing and recovery journey both with anxiety and depression which I utilize as a therapeutic tool. I practice in a very individualized way meeting each client where they are and using my own therapeutic experience and wisdom combined with the client's inner wisdom to help inform the direction of treatment.

What you can expect from me

I am a solution oriented therapist and tangible progress that clients experience in their real lives in a top priority for me. Clients can expect to leave sessions with me feeling lighter from the experience of being deeply seen and understood. Clients can also expect to leave with increased self awareness and an understanding of their inner world as it relates to their daily lived experience. Clients will also be empowered with personalized action steps to continue growing, healing and integrating the therapy experience between sessions.
