Great to meet you!

Hello, I am a Graduate of Prescott College with a Master's in Counseling Psychology, Art Therapy & Expressive Art Therapy. I am a Professional Licensed Counselor & Supervisor working in the field for over 21yrs. In my counseling psychology practice I use: Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandtray, Jungian Therapy & EMDR to explore complex issues that are often difficult to put into words. Experienced in EMDR (Eye Movement & Desensitization) for over 18yrs. I trained with EMDRIA & completed Part 1-2. I'm also trained in Sandtray Parts 1-3 through the New Mexico Sandtray Institute in Corrales, NM. In addition, I have my DBT Group Facilitator Certification. I have used DBT in teen groups & with individuals of all ages. In addition, I have a professional artist studio & over 26yrs experience with fine art education, marketing & management. As a go-getter & entrepreneur, I am founder of several successful fine art gallery businesses located in Northern New Mexico.

My approach to therapy

I best describe my approach in counseling as "Solutions Focused" & "Best Practice," in that I will use educational methods that are most effective for results in treatment that the client can use in their lives daily. I also have a eclectic "Client-Centered" perspective to support busy, modern lifestyles. I like to inspire my clients to integrate learning by making art, journaling & growing their mindfulness practice. I encourage clients to do their own research by reading & developing mastery through practical integrative skills. I infuse sessions with creative modalities to provide gentle insights, hope, increase creativity, develop new ideas & perspectives. The client is encouraged to increase self-awareness, decrease anxiety/ depression, deepen self-compassion & grow natural supports that can help them outside of therapy. I specialized in telehealth.

What you can expect from me

The first few sessions are about getting to know the client addressing any emergent needs. This may include a full psycho-social and/or behavioral assessment. We will work towards goal setting in the form of a comprehensive treatment plan with measurable outcomes to ensure that clients are on target towards meeting personal goals. Community resourcing & safety planning may also be a part of this process.
