Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Rachel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as your whole self and feel genuinely heard, supported, and accepted.

My background is in behavioral mental health, hospice and palliative care, grief and loss, and substance use. I’ve also spent three years living overseas in Bangladesh and Cambodia, which deepened my appreciation for different cultures, perspectives, and life experiences. Before becoming a social worker, I worked in massage therapy, which sparked my interest in the connection between the mind and body.

I bring curiosity, compassion, and an open mind to my work and believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, and support you in moving toward the life you want.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, person-centered, and collaborative. I take a holistic, whole-person approach because there is so much more to us than a diagnosis or a single challenge we may be facing.

My experience in hospice and palliative care has taught me the importance of being present with people through some of life’s most difficult and meaningful moments. I bring that same presence and compassion into therapy, whether we’re working through grief, life transitions, relationships, mental health concerns, or simply trying to better understand yourself.

I also incorporate harm-reduction principles, meeting you where you are without judgment and supporting change that feels realistic and meaningful to you. I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest, feel safe, and move at your own pace.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know each other and creating a space where you feel comfortable being yourself. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping for from our work together.

You don’t need to have everything figured out or even know exactly what you need help with. We can start wherever feels right for you.

My hope is that you leave feeling heard, respected, and a little more understood. From there, we’ll work together to identify what matters most to you and find an approach that feels supportive and true to who you are.
