Great to meet you!

My name is Rachel, and I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I received my associates degree in nursing from Blue Ridge Community College, and I received my bachelors and masters degrees in nursing from James Madison University. I received a post graduate certificate in psych mental health from Shenandoah University, and I am currently enrolled in classes to obtain my doctor of nursing practice degree from James Madison University. I have worked as a registered nurse in state psychiatric facilities since 2018, and I became a nurse practitioner in 2025.

My approach to therapy

I want to listen to my clients' stories, experiences, and goals, and I would like to learn about them and their desires for treatment and support. I can assess clients' mental health and provide education and recommendations about medications and other treatment options. I would like to assist clients in making treatment decisions that feel right for them, and I will continue to follow up with them and make changes to their individual treatment plans as needed.

What you can expect from me

During my first sessions, I will listen to my clients' tell me their stories and reasons for seeking care. I will listen to whatever my clients feel comfortable sharing and ask follow up questions if needed. I would like to hear about any past treatments that have been helpful or not helpful, and I would like to learn about my clients' treatment preferences and the ways that I can best support them.
